Gabriella Demczuk

Gabriella Demczuk is an independent photographer based between Washington, D.C. and
Baltimore, Md.

Born in Sweden but raised in Luxembourg, Belgium and later the United States, she studied fine arts and journalism at The George Washington University and photography at the Parsons School of Art and Design in Paris. 

Gabriella has been recognized by The White House News Photographers Association, American
Photography, The Society of Professional Journalists and Pictures of the Year International (POYi). Gabriella was named Photoboite's 30 Under 30 Women Photographers and Emerging Photographer by the Magenta Foundation. She was recently named a finalist for the Inge Morath award from the Magnum Foundation for her work looking at the issues and changes Baltimore’s underserved communities face before and after the events surrounding the death of Freddie Gray.

Her work regularly appears in The New York Times, NPR, and CNN, among others and has
been exhibited nationally and internationally including The Houston Center of Photography in Texas, The Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles and The Angkor Photo Festival in Cambodia.
