Late last week and this past weekend the New York Photo Festival took place in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn. This festival has steadily increased in size, recognition and prestige. This year one of the curators included well known New Yorker Visuals Editor Elisabeth Biondi. On Thursday Under the Bridge: Projections of a Revolution was held featuring a projection of dozens of photographers’ work from Northern Africa, including the work of numerous Getty news and Reportage photographers. The projection documented revolutionary struggles specifically in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. Shaul Schwarz was selected for inclusion in Elisabeth’s show as was Andy Spyra a Reportage “Emerging Talent.” The work of Benjamin Lowy and Antonio Bolfo was also featured at the festival.
