Farzana Hossen

Farzana Hossen is a documentary photographer, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is studying photography at Pathshala-South Asian Media Academy. She found photography as a great medium of expressing her feelings, telling the story of humanity and injustice of the society.

In 2013 Farzana won The Ian Parry Scholarship. She also received awards from various international organizations including WHO, Venice International Photo Contest, UNESCO “Gender Equality In Education” and Garuda Indonesia International photo award. Her work has been exhibited at many national and international exhibitions, notably Chobimela 2011(Self-discovery), UK-Guardian Gallery 2012, (Insider, Outsider - A majority world exhibition) Mother Gallery, London 2013.  Her work has featured in national and international publications including The Sunday Times Magazine, The Guardian, The Daily Star (Bangledesh), as well as The New Age, UNESCO official website. 

Farzana has attended several local and international workshops including  International Reportage workshop with Philip Blenkinsop & Max Pam at Cairo, Student Workshop on visual story telling with Morten Krogvold in Bangladesh & She also participated in a Multimedia Journalism Workshop conducted by DJ Clarke and reportage workshop by Stuart Freedman in 2010.
